About us
Our ambition is to build a community focused clinic where our small, experienced team can foster a trusting and sustainable relationship with our clients and their pets.
We know first hand from our existing large animal business ‘Kerry Vale Vets’ the value that can be created in offering a personal service to a community of committed clients. Our ambition is to build a similar small business, delivering a valuable and valued service.
Saski Steele
Vet, Director
“I have been a vet for 17 years and have lived in the area since 2012, previously working in Liverpool, Hampshire and Shropshire. I enjoy all aspects of the veterinary job, especially general surgery, dentistry and ‘Official Veterinarian’ work for European pet travel. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and looking after my animals at home. I look forward too meeting you and your pets.”
Vet
Nuala McGowan
“Originally from Northern Ireland, I qualified from Dublin Vet College in 2010 and came over to Wales to start my veterinary career. I intended to stay here for a year but have never managed to leave!”
“I completed a certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2017 and have a special interest in ultrasonography. I always try to treat my patients as I would like my own pets to be treated and I’m really looking forward to meeting my new patients and their owners.”
“In my free time I attend Welsh lessons and can often be found attempting to recall train my little Border Terrier, Dexter. I’m also kept busy at home with our two young children on our family farm.”
Samantha Fox
Registered Vet Nurse
“Hi, my name is Samantha Fox and I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2021. I have spent the last 16 years working in the veterinary industry, and feel it is a great privilege to be able to nurse animals. I enjoy all aspects of the RVN role, but I do have a love for wound care and emergency work.”
“When not at work you may find me working on my next lego piece, or spending time with my husband, our two children and our two miniature dachshunds.”
Anwen Evans
Vet Administrator
Anwen will be working at both Newtown Clinic, where she will support us on reception, and at our large animal practice, Kerry Vale Vets. Her talents lie in keeping us running as organised and efficiently as possible.
“I’m Anwen and have lived in the area all my life. Many of you already know me from working at Kerry Vale Vets. I have worked in the vet industry for 7 years. I have always had a huge love of animals and kept many pets since being a child. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, as well as walking my two dogs, looking after my horses and helping out on the farm at home.”
